Hauntcast 36 – “Laid to Rest” (The last pre-Resurrection episode)
Alas, the end is here, kiddies. This month’s episode will be our last as we close the coffin lid on Hauntcast. But have no fear, we have a little left in us as we present the featured haunter from the upcoming Haunter’s Documentary from Magic Stone Productions and prop-builder/foam-carver extraordinaire this month’s special guest HALLOWEEN ZOMBIE aka VIC BARITEAU of GHOULIE MANOR. And delivering our psychotic swan song are this month’s special musical guests, The Koffin Kats. Revenant delivers a few final tidbits in News From Beyond. Chris gets In The Cut with Vic Victor of The Koffin Kats and we spin “V8 Nightmare”. The entire Scream Team is on hand to recount their Halloweens at the Hauntcast Round Table. “Saw My Friend Explode Today” by The Koffin Kats. Johnny Thunder drops an overview of upcoming horror releases for 2012 in the last Fright Flicks and Horror Reviews. “Splatterhouse” by The Koffin Kats. An informative and insightful recollection by Mr. Conal Cochran opens up this year’s Halloween spooktacular featuring an interview with renowned haunt designer Tattoo aka Mike Krausert of Bad Boys Scenic Design and director of Nightmare New England/Spookyworld and Fear at Fenway. Mix one part 60′s beach party, one part B-movie, a pinch of bikinis, a splash of hot babes with pipes to match and you have this month’s musical guests, Witches in Bikinis. Revenant has updates on the latest gatherings and events in News From Beyond. Grimlock drops more dark links for your listening, viewing and purchasing pleasure in Access Hollyween. Chris gets In The Cut with Bill Rozar and Caitlin, the creator/producer and newest member of Witches in Bikinis and we spin their cut, “Calling King Kong”. The Mistress of Mayhem welcomes you to her parlor as she presents a tribute to “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow” in The Charmed Pot. One-man flash mob Johnny Thunder updates us on HorrorFind Weekend and his side-gig at Bates Motel and Haunted Hayride and serves up his review of Tucker and Dale vs Evil as well as updates on upcoming TV and movie horror in Fright Flicks and Horror Reviews. There’s chum in the water as we set to sharkin’ this month featuring Part 2 of our interview with Matt Ford of House at Haunted Hill and spooky garage-surf rockers, The Ghastly Ones. News From Beyond updates and we get hooked into haunting on the Interwebz in our new segment, Access Hollyween with Grimlock. Norman “Baron Shivers” Cabrera of The Ghastly Ones checks in on the Bone Phone and we spin “The Ghastly Stomp”. The Mistress of Mayhem chats it up with Halloween artist, blogger and author of Brains vs Coffee, Ghoul Friday. Johnny Thunder chats with producer and co-director Randy Kent about his new indie fright flick, The Perfect House, and gives his review of the film, as well as a post-National Haunters Convention wrap-up, a review of The Trollhunter and news from the world of horror in Fright Flicks and Horror Reviews. Revenant explores Apocalyptic Themes in haunting in Theater of the Mind. The Mistress of Mayhem celebrates the centenary of revered horror icon Vincent Price and Denhaunt drops some how-to’s and how-NOT-to’s in the Prop Shop. All this plus a dose of Mad Props for Props featuring Jim Transue’s Gothic Gargoyle costume and the Top Ten reasons we’re saying goodbye to the Hauntcast Top Ten.
